Description:Nach Auskunft der Ranger war die Düne früher viel weniger von Moos bedeckt (Aussage 5/2025).

In und am Rand der offenen Bereiche ist die aggressive Ameisenart Formica cinerea sehr stark präsent – dies betrifft den westlichen Teil des Gebietes. Sie ist sehr angriffslustig und beißt nicht nur Arthropoden.
